Our Homeplace, Henson Farms

Proud of our mountain heritage, Henson Farms is rich in history and character. Circa 1940, the original owners, Gay and Evelyn Chambers were prominent members in the community. He was a local pastor and principal, and she was a teacher. They grew crops, raised cattle and poultry on the farm.

Mr. and Mrs. Chambers did not have children themselves, however the children in the area flocked to their home to play in the large fields, and on the mountains behind the beautiful and much loved stone cottage. It has been told, many weddings happened on the front lawn on Sundays after church, so we felt it was destined to be a wedding venue.

The original barn, was salvaged and repurposed into the pavilion we use today for ceremonies and party space, by current owners Kenneth and Jan Henson. It has been a labor of love for Kenneth and Jan to acquire and be good stewards of this land and farm.   We look forward to sharing our beloved farm with you!
